SMRPD's Mission Statement - "To promote community well being through programs and activities that protect, preserve and enrich the canyons’ heritage, open space and unique way of life."
what is the SMRPD’s position on the ABBEY moving to Holtz Ranch – since in the Mission Statement it says “and activities that protect, preserve and enrich the canyons’ heritage, open space and unique way of life.”
I can understand why the ICL would shy away from this issue – but does an Elected Official have an obligation to inform constituents their opinion?
I wish we could have bought Holtz Ranch to preserve it as open space.
What do you think?

A Message from the President
We're moving into a new phase; a lot of prep work to lay a new institutional foundation has been accomplish. We've tried to show anyone who cares that we are serious about our mission and serious about extending our service to the community and the area.
The committee for the Saddleback Vineyards 100 (got a new name?) is moving along looking for consensus. I think we're getting close and with much sooner than I thought. Our first product will be an Memorandum Of Understanding with OC Parks on the nature of the relationship between us in terms of the newly acquired property.
Shortly we'll have a community meeting to offer the committee consensus. The committee could be bigger but it does represent varied interests of current and future users of the Santiago Truck Trail.
Stay tuned for announcements soon and if you'd like to get involved or just follow along then send a message and I'll be happy to invite you.
