The Silverado-Modjeska Recreation and Park District (SMRPD) is a California Independent Special District with taxing authority formed on March 22, 1961 under California Resource Code Chapter 4, Division 5. The SMRPD is recognized as an Open Space Special District by the Local Area Formation Committee and the Orange County Board of Supervisors.
The District covers approximately 65 square miles of eastern Orange County roughly E/W from Live Oak Canyon Road to the 241 Toll Road and N/S from the Riverside/Orange County line to Santiago Canyon Road. The Silverado Children’s Center is an enterprise unit of SMRPD. District Directors are elected by residents of the district.
